Ryan Baird has led multi-discipline teams through projects and pre-DHSR inspections while stamping electrical projects since 2015. He has consistently led electrical engineering standards at each stage of his career, and has often shared knowledge with more experienced engineers. Ryan has earned a reputation for providing excellent electrical engineering leadership, including assisting clients in diagnosing uncommon intermittent electrical issues and providing master assessments with information valuable to upper management.
He began accumulating experience with healthcare engineering and power systems studies upon starting his career in 2010 at Coordinated Power Systems and then at Caveo (acquired by SES). He fell in love with Architectural Engineering and has an AE degree focused on electrical systems from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Ryan proved his commitment to excellence early by leading his collegiate NECA/EI Green Energy Challenge team to win the national championship in 2010.
Notable Project Experience:
Designed a re-purposing of existing generators to fully backup CRHS Hospital and achieve a payback through a utility program by designing automatic paralleling service equipment.
Power systems study for CMC Mercy Hospital, 463,000 SF and 1,000 buses.
Led the electrical design for the Levine Cancer Institute Expansion, $150 million project. A new 270,000 SF high-rise with significant existing high-rise renovations.
Performed significant roles on various complex healthcare projects including Mercy Surgery Capacity, CMC Main Hybrid OR, IMRIS Assessment, and MIBG.
Designed the power distribution for the VA Healthcare Center in Charlotte, $150 million project. A 429,000 SF outpatient center including ambulatory surgery.
Designed a pharmacy prototype to meet USP 800 requirements, and applied the prototype at 13 facilities in 1 year.
Other types of healthcare design project experience includes: Operating Rooms, Pediatric OR, ICU, Surgery-Urology, Surgical Oncologists, Sterile Processing Department, Biorepository, Hematology-Oncology, Acute Care Beds, LTAC, Maternity, Nursing Homes, Triage, Emergency Departments, Heart-Vascular, Gastro, NIN, Urgent Care, Cardiac Observation Units, CERP, Cath Labs, Radiology, Fluoroscopy, MRI, Linear Accelerator, etc. This equips him to tackle any type of healthcare project.
